I'm here!

jueves. 18.8.2011

I am here after a long day of traveling.  Currently in Ciudad del Saber and tomorrow starts training and lots of shots.  I also learned that I can eventually have a pet.  Pretty excited about that!  That's all for now.  I will have internet until Sunday am so comment here, facebook, or email (kristen.joaquim@gmail.com) me.  Goodnight!

I arrived to Washington DC for the staging event yesterday.  I met the 16 other Peace Corp trainees in my group.  We had sessions to prepare us for departure.  Right now I am at the airport and we have 3 hours until we leave for Miami and then Panama City.  I am not sure when I will have internet from here on out but I will update my blog as much as possible.

If anyone wants to send me mail, this is my address for the next 9 weeks.  Packages can take up to a month to receive.

Washington D.C.

Although it was not a worldly travel, Matt and I went to Washington D.C. this past Wednesday for some site seeing.
In the car on the way to DC.

Waiting to get into the Art Museum.

I don't remember who designed this.  They are in Europe.  I learned this in college but have already forgotten.

Capitol Building.

Washington Monument.

Washington Monument.

And again.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

All the courageous people who fought for us.

Botanical Garden and Museum.

Yay Panama!

The end of the trip :)
